The HRC is committed to furthering fair employment practices in Lexington-Fayette County.  The HRC enforces Local Ordinance 199-94 and 201-99, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 (ADEA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), which together protect individuals against employment discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age (40+), disability and sexual orientation/gender identity.
