Three
local female artists will celebrate Women’s History Month on Wednesday, March
14, 2001 at 1:00 p.m., in the cafeteria at Harrison Elementary School, 161 Bruce
Street. The artists, Pat Gerhard from Third Street Stuff, Marty Henton from the
Living Arts and Science Center, and Paula Whitaker, and Harrison second-graders
will work on a sculpture project inspired by Louise
Nevelson, a female artist who did large relief sculptures during most of the
20th century.
The student’s sculpture will be displayed at the school. The Women’s History
Month activity is part of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Human Rights
Commission’s Cultural Diversity Program at Harrison.
