Anti-Defamation League: fighting anti-Semitism through programs and services that counteract hatred, prejudice and bigotry.

FBI Hate Crime Statistics: provides hate crimes statistics in the U. S. as reported by law enforcement agencies.

Hate Free Lexington: a community coalition against hate.

The Interfaith Alliance: The purpose of the Interfaith alliance is to promote the positive and healing religion in public life through encouraging civic participation and facilitating community activism.

Kentucky Conference for Community & Justice Bluegrass Region: is a human relations organization dedicated to fighting bias, bigotry and racism in America. KCCJ promotes understanding and respect among all races, religions and cultures through advocacy, conflict resolution and education.

Southern Poverty Law Center: a nonprofit organization that combats hate, intolerance and discrimination through education and litigation.  Its programs include the Intelligence Project, Teaching Tolerance and Tolerance.org.  The Center also sponsors the Civil Rights Memorial, which celebrates the memory of those who died during the Civil Rights Movement.

Study Circles: The Study Circles Resource Center is dedicated to finding ways for all kinds of people to engage in dialogue and problem solving on critical social and political issues.  SCRC helps communities by giving them the tools to organize productive dialogue, recruit diverse participants, find solutions, and work for action and change.

 

Publications

Kentucky Criminal Justice Council: Hate Crime and Hate Incidents in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.  The purpose of the report report is to inform both the public and state policymakers on the incidence and prevalence of bias-motivated crime.  “Hate Crime and Hate Incidents in the Commonwealth of Kentucky” includes official federal data reported in the Uniform Crime Reports and state level data reported to the Kentucky State Police. It also incorporates anecdotal information compiled from select newspapers; reports received by the Kentucky Commission on Human Rights; information provided by the Kentucky Fairness Alliance; and data collected by the Anti-Defamation League.  You may access the report on the Kentucky Criminal Justice Council's web site at: www.kcjc.state.ky.us then click on the "publications" button.
