Officer Michael Bandy has been with the University of Kentucky Police
Department for 26 years. He has made tremendous strides in building
trust and positive relationships between University of Kentucky Police and
international students. In addition to educating students on safety,
Officer Bandy volunteers personal time to attend cultural events and
develop positive relationships with the students.

Assistant Chief Ulysses G. Berry has served the community in various
capacities at the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Division of Police for 37
years. In addition to his strong connections with neighborhood
associations and community organizations in his role heading the Community
Services Bureau, Berry has volunteered his time in over 30 local, state
and national organizations.

Sergeant Joan Root has been with the Lexington-Fayette Urban County
Division of Police for 21 years. She is responsible for the
development and implementation of the Neighborhood Support Unit. The
Unit's goal is to reduce crime and improve the quality of life in the
neighborhoods that they serve by developing a partnership between
community members, community agencies, businesses and government.

Officer Debbie Wagner has been with the Lexington-Fayette Urban County
Division of Police for 24 years. She coordinated the first Citizen's
Police Academy and CPA Master Academy, both programs educate community
members on police and the environment in which they serve and serves as a
forum for police community relations. Wagner also implemented the
first Crime Free Programs for Multi-Housing and Hotel/Motel.

Officer Gary Wilson has been with the Lexington-Fayette Urban County
Division of Police for 23 years in various capacities. Officer
Wilson serves as an instructor for the Citizen's Police Academy and Master
Academy, has been active in the National Conference for Community and
Justice and teaches cultural diversity, interpersonal communications and
crime prevention to Recruit Officers.
